As a regular part of their mandate, the Bank of Canada Museum creates stationary, temporary and travelling exhibitions to showcase their collection and Canada's financial history. For Voices from the Engraver, the exhibition needed to convey the artistry and skill involved with engraving. The walnut panels and steel accents were a good start. The artifacts did the rest ;)
In partnership with the Museum of History in Gatineau, QC, the Bank of Canada Museum puts on a satellite exhibition just outside the Museum of History's Grand Hall. This particular instalment tackled the Yukon Gold Rush of 1868 and it's finances. The buildings of the time were so incredible that it seemed like an obvious choice to create...wait for it...a diorama!
